Haru Ichiban Hits Northern Kyushu

The Fukuoka Regional Headquarters of the Japan Meteorological Agency announced on Feb. 16, 2017 at 16:20 the first spring storm (‘haru ichiban’) was observed in Northern Kyushu. It is the first spring storm in two years and the first one to be observed by the whole of Japan. The conditions for ‘haru ichiban’ are that it blows between risshun (2/4) and shubun (3/20), originates from the south, with a maximum wind speed greater than 7m/s, and the temperature reaches higher than the previous day.
