The Kyushu Tourism Promotion Organization is running two competitions to spread the love for Kyushu!
Kyushu Article Contest
Help Kyushu Tourism Promotion Organization promote the island by writing an essay on the theme “Kyushu”. Pen a piece about an experience or place you loved in Kyushu: onsen, spots of natural beauty, festivals – it’s up to you! Then promote your post on SNS. Previous contestants have written on everything from walking around town in a kimono to a tour of the whole of Kyushu!
Prizes:
Gold: The writer of the best piece will receive a voucher for hotel accommodation and transportation in Kyushu for two people, plus a congratulatory certificate.
Silver: The wordsmith who takes second place will receive a hotel voucher for the Kyushu area and a congratulatory certificate.
Bronze: The two contestants who attain joint third place will each receive a selection of local specialty products from Kyushu and a congratulatory certificate.
Competition runs: 2015/10/13 ~ 12/25 (Award ceremony: end of Feb)
Who’s eligible?: Foreigners living in Kyushu and foreigners living overseas who have visited Kyushu. (Entries accepted in English, Chinese and Korean.)

Kyushu Onsen Contest
Kyushu is famous within Japan for its fabulous, invigorating onsen, but many foreigners don’t even know what an onsen is before they arrive. Help spread the word about Kyushu’s onsen by voting for your favorite out of 20 pre-selected spots and leaving a comment. There are special prizes available to those who leave the best comment on their chosen onsen! The best commenter for each town (some towns have multiple onsen) will receive a gift. Want to visit one but can’t decide? Take their quiz to get three tailored onsen recommendations!
Competition runs: 2015/11/5 ~ 2016/1/15
Who’s eligible?: Foreigners living in Kyushu and non-Japanese tourists.
