Miyazaki Caviar to Hong Kong

For the first time caviar produced in Miyazaki Prefecture was exported overseas. An initial shipment of 1.64kg of caviar was shipped by air to Hong Kong. The producers will use Hong Kong as a test market before trying to sell in Europe. The caviar was produced from sturgeon originally gifted by the former Soviet Union to Miyazaki Prefecture in 1983. In a nod to that year the caviar was named ‘Miyazaki Caviar 1983’. The caviar was served during the Japan Russia summit meeting with Putin last December. Source: Yomiuri Shinbun, 3/9
