Shops Reopen While Public Asked to Refrain from Unnecessary Outings – No New Infections Reported in Kyushu

In response to the regional lifting of the closure requests for most businesses in Fukuoka, large-scale commercial facilities, including department stores, are resuming operation. Some shops inside those facilities have announced extended closures due to the delay in securing stock. Local department stores are skeptical about business as the public is still being asked to refrain from nonessential outings. On May 15, no new cases of COVID-19 infection were in the prefectures of Kyushu and Okinawa. The cumulative total of infections in Fukuoka Prefecture is now 657.
