Koyo at its Peak at Sennyoji Temple in Itoshima

The famous ‘Okaede’ (big maple) tree at Sennyoji Temple in Raizan, Itoshima, is now in its Koyo prime. One of Fukuoka Prefecture’s natural monuments, the tree is about 400 years old and stands 8m tall. There are 200 kaede trees big and small in the temple and visitors can enjoy koyo until the end of November. Can’t make it out to Itoshima? Check out our full Koyo guide online here:
