Custard Cream Apple Pie Store “Ringo” Opens In Tenjin

Bake Inc. the Hokkaido-based company behind the wildly successful brand “Bake” cheese tarts, will open a new shop, also in Fukuoka’s Tenjin Chikagai (underground shopping center) for their new brand, Ringo on May 22. Like Bake, the new shop will sell only one product, custard cream apple pies. You can expect long lines as the first Ringo shop in Ikebukuro, Tokyo has reportedly sold over 130,000 pies since opening in March. The new shop in Tenjin will be the third Ringo shop in Japan. Committed to using top quality ingredients, the apples are sourced from Aomori, the custard cream is made with Hokkaido cream, while fresh Hokkaido butter and an original wheat blend are used in the pastry. Fresh from the oven, 2-cm square pies are injected with custard cream for guaranteed freshly-baked crispy custard cream apple pies. Fukuoka Now attended a pre-open event that featured a talk by the Shintaro Naganuma, CEO, Bake and a tour of the soon-to-open shop. Oh, we got to do some tasting too!!!
