Recruit Sumai Company carried out an internet-based survey, which revealed that locals view the area of Hakata as the most desirable place to live in Fukuoka City, with respondents citing the lively atmosphere, range of shops, central location and value of property as reasons for wanting to reside in the area. Ohori Park came in at number two, with people listing the greenery, park facilities and surrounding museums as attractive qualities. Nishijin was ranked third thanks in part to its convenient location and reputation for good schools. Yakuin (fourth), Meinohama (fifth), Tenjin (sixth), Hirao (seventh), Chihaya (eighth), Akasaka (ninth) and Ohashi (tenth) made up the top ten. Comment on your favorite area of Fukuoka!
