Island Foods & Bar
“If you enjoy island foods, fashion and music, then you’re going to love this three-story tropical white beach house paradise located in a back alley near Oyafuko-dori. The interior decor is a decidely cool mixture of heavy dark wood, multi-colored glass, a blazing red-tile counter bar, slick Italian white metal stools, aqua blue signage, and an open DJ booth. Producer and DJ George has obviously put in a lot of what made him such a success down in Okinawa for the last seven years here too. Jamaican, Okinawan, Mexican, Balinese, Hawaiian, and other tropical dishes and drinks fill out the reasonably-priced menu which also features dinner sets at 990 yen that are filling and great value. Speaking of value, how about the three-hour all-you-can-drink sessions (choice of six cocktails, juices and tea)? Families that like to party together are not forgotten, as the Kid’s Set (choice of spam rice ball or maui burger, spaghetti, mini-burger, fresh fruit, mini-mango bite and 100% orange juice) is a steal at just 400 yen. There’s even a special playroom for toddlers to boogie in on the second floor. Low-malt draft ?500 yen (300 ml) and Okinawan Orion is on tap for 700 yen(500 ml). Just opened in May but expect new menu items, special events, and even a Sunday brunch in the near future.”
