Heat wave precautions

Heat exhaustion can be life-threatening. Take these precautions to protect your health this summer. 1. Avoid heat. Take hats or parasols with you when going outdoors, and use the curtains, fans, or air conditioners when indoors. 2. Take plenty of fluids. Drink small amounts of water even if your throat is not dry. Take extra salt if you perspire heavily. 3. Dress wisely. Wear clothing that absorbs perspiration and dries quickly. 4. Don’t overexert yourself. Skipping meals or insufficient sleep can cause heat exhaustion. Maintain proper lifestyle habits. 5. Be considerate of other group members when engaging in group activities. Shorten the time of the activity or take planned breaks.
