Hakata Port International Terminal Renovated!

Many aesthetic and functional improvements were completed recently at the Hakata Port International Terminal. A new escalator and elevator were installed to help passengers board the New Camellia ferry and the Beetle and Kobee hydrofoils which link Fukuoka to Busan. The interior received some modifications including the use of Hakata Ori (textile) and Hakata-bei (walls made of earth and old roof tiles) so visitors can obtain a feel for the city’s history and culture. Figuring out how to board buses and pay has been a challenge for visitors.
