Authentic Mexican food and over 100 varieties of tequila. Colourful interior too!
La Borracha (The Drunkenness), the sister shop to El Boracho (The Drunk) in Daimyo, is located off Watanabe-dori on a quiet side street in Takasago, a few blocks south of the Hotel New Otani. In addition to the burritos, enchiladas, sinronizadas, and the popular Pastor Taco (juicy roasted pork shoulder with pineapple and salsa), the big news here is pollo rostisado (Mexican rotisserie chicken). Marinated for over 24 hours in a special sauce, whole chickens are roasted slowly using a special oven imported from Mexico. The skin is crispy, the meat succulent and flavorful; add salsa to spice things up. A Mexican beer, glass of wine, or margarita (regular or frozen) are nice complements; or check out the tequila menu boasting over 100 varieties! Newbies should try the “tequila taster set” which includes three shots (except premium brands) for just ¥900. Cool down with Lemon Cake, Coco Mochi Mango, or Tropical Fruit Sherbet for a desert. The chicken and most other dishes are available for take-out, including bottles of Tequila! Ola- ola!
