South American fare for lunch and dinner in colorful cafe setting.

For over a decade now, NPO Tiempo Iberoamericano Latin Cultural Center hasハtaught Fukuokans how to salsa, tango, play Spanish guitar, paint, sculpt and speak foreign languages.ハButハhere`s what you didn’t know:ハtheir cafe serves some of the tastiest Latin dishes in town. Each year a chef on sabbatical from Latin America brings personal spice and flair to the menu. The colorfully decorated cafe, a work of art in itself, is sure to brighten your day. Tall stools at the counter are ideal for singles, and if weather permits, you can relax with your food and drink on the outdoor patio. The daily lunch menu (エ750) includes soup and salad, or opt for the scrumptious soft-shell tacos, empanada, or salad lunch sets. On Fridays at 1:30, Tiempo’s Spanish guitar instructor gets the weekend started a little early with an enchanting performance. Where else in Fukuoka does lunch come with live music? Recommended for dinner are the Spanish Appetizers for エ1,300 (Serrano ham, Manchego cheese, chorizo, olives and bread), Beef or Chicken Argentine Cutlet (エ700), Fried Cassava (エ600) and Sancho’s Original Seafood Rice. Lots of Latin beers, wines and coffees are served as well, and you can enjoy live Spanish guitar on weekdays at 19:00 and 20:30 (except Tuesday).
