We are seeking an energetic and fun part time teacher and af full time from June, English Instructor to join our teaching staff at Kirin Kindergarten and Nursery. Kirin Kindergarten believes in a fun, yet effective approach to teaching, and is seeking a talented addition to our teaching team. We use GrapeSEED curriculum for afterschool English program and also have our own curriculum for kindergarten and nursery. We also opened a new small-group English After School program from this April. So that, we are looking for more instructors who can stay with us for a long term to build up the quality of our curriculum and also a relationship with our students. This is an exciting opportunity to explore the beautiful city of Fukuoka while experiencing Japanese culture.
About Kirin:
We, SKT English Department, Inc. is located at the Kirin Kindergarten and Nursery School facility in Jonan-ku, Fukuoka, and we create English curriculum for children from 0 years old to 6th grade in elementary school, provide lessons, and train children to speak English. We also create regular English curriculum for Kirin Kindergarten (2-5 years old) and Kirin Nursery School (0-5 years old) and go to each class to provide lessons. In these classes, Japanese homeroom teachers are available to support the lessons. We also offer extracurricular English classes in the afternoons, preschool classes for 3 to 5 year-olds by grade, and English classes (individual and groups of 15-20 students) for 1st to 6th graders as an after-school program in the evenings. We use GrapeSEED curriculum for those lessons. In addition, we started a new small-group English After School program this school year, where children will be kept from around 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. We will focus on developing bilingualism in the after-school hours only.
Qualifications:
Previous experience working with young children or previous teaching experience is highly preferred, along with previous exposure to Asian culture. Teachers must be physically capable and easily mobile as classes are fast-paced and active. Although not required, basic Japanese language skills are strongly preferred. Our ideal candidate must love children and must be fun, caring, personable, professional, and creative.
【Full time teaching position】:
A teacher will receive a monthly salary of 250,000 yen, and the company will pay all transportation expenses up to 1,000 yen per day. When the first contract ends, there will be a bonus (100,000yen). Summer vacation (2 weeks), winter vacation (2weeks), and health insurance are provided. In addition, instructors are allowed a total of 10-15 days (depends on the year’s school calendar) sick leave during the contract period, which they may use. The instructor’s contract will run from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024, in accordance with the Japanese school system year. When the teacher’s contract starts from middle of the school year, it will run from the starting months to the next school year ends. (ex. Oct 1, 2023 – Mar 31st 2025) For the first 3monts will be a probationary (trial) period. There will also be a promotion system after the end of the first contract. Daily work hours are 9:20-18:30, including one hour break.
【Part time teaching position】
Instructor will be provided 1,800yen to 2000yen per an hour depends on their experience and a teaching tequniques. Transportation fees are fully covered by the company up to 1,000 yen per day. Health insurance will be depend on working time of Contract. In order to accommodate the Japanese school year without interruption, teaching contracts in April of 2023 and last through March31 of 2024. Daily working hours are 3-5 hours in the afternoon within13:30-18:30 (working days and time will depends on our lesson schedule)
About our Instructor:
Our Instructor must love working with young children, must be creative and flexible as an Instructor, and must be willing to adapt his/her teaching style to suit multiple classes. Instructor must be energetic and must thrive in a fast-paced work culture. Occasional classroom supervision may be required in some situations.
