KBS is currently looking for a fun, enthusiastic and energetic ALTs for a position in public school in the Kitakyushu area. This position starts immediately with the possibility of re-contracting for another year. We would like an ALT who is flexible, a team player, and has a passion for teaching.

Your job will consist in assisting the Japanese English teachers in their duties, as well as being the face of the international world. You will provide opportunities to the students to speak English with a foreigner inside the safe environment that schools provide as well as lead activities where the learners need to speak to each other functionally in English. You will introduce a different culture, a different point of view, as well as insight into the world in general. Your goal will be to give the students both the will and the tools to travel and experience the world as well as use English at home and in their local neighbourhood.

KBS will provide training and materials.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8:30 to 5:00

Contract Period:
Immediately to February 2020 with the option of re-contracting.

*Requirements
University BA or BS degree
Native speaker of English
Conversational Japanese speaker
Access to Internet outside school and ability to check emails every day

*Advantageous qualifications
Valid driver’s license and vehicle
Computer skills (word, excel, picture editing, Internet, emails, etc.)
MA in TESOL or similar
