Part Time ALT position now available in the Northern Kumamoto area

OWLS Co., Ltd. is looking for a part time energetic teacher to teach at Elementary Schools 2 or 3 times a week in Northern Kumamoto area.
Designated visa and Student visa holders welcome as long as you hold a permission to work stamp on your resident card.

Compensation: Daily Wage (amount made available upon interview)
Working Days: Between Monday to Friday
Contract Term: April 2020 to March 2021

Required Qualifications:
*Must have teaching experience in Japan.
*Native English speaker.
*Valid working visa.
*Bachelor’s degree or higher.
*Two references from a previous or current employer.
*High level of proficiency in written and verbal use of English.
*Must own a computer (smart phone is not an option) and have basic Microsoft office or equivalent skills.
*Cover letter must be provided along with the application.
*Conversational Japanese language skills or higher.

Advantageous Qualifications:
*TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certification
*Teaching license
*Valid driver’s license (International or Japanese)

The Job:
*To help to educate Japanese children by providing a native English language model and cultural perspective.
*To plan lessons and prepare materials to facilitate and effective educational program in conjunction with Japanese teachers.
*To conduct English language lessons, and generate an educational and supportive environment.

Main Duties:
*Prepare instructional plans and lesson outlines for teacher approval using the OWLS English Teaching Method.
*Support instructional plans by preparing and developing teaching aids and materials such as flash-cards, games and activities as needed.
*Present English-language subject matter to students by utilizing a variety of methods and techniques such as demonstrations, activities, and supervised role-play.
*Present and reinforce language targets by helping students, individually, and in groups to achieve lesson aims.
*Evaluate students’ progress by preparing, administering and grading assessments and by discussing progress with teachers.
*Maintain and strive to improve the quality of results by following and implementing standards.
*Perform on-going professional development by participating in training workshops, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
*Add value to schools’ educational program by advancing students’ English language abilities.

Event Duties:
*Speech Coaching, Eiken Test Prep, Debate Classes, possible Special Needs Classes and School events such as Culture Day and Sports Day.
