**Hiring in Fukuoka – FT or PT shifts at Shane English School**

Fukuoka is a popular and exciting city, and continues to thrive despite the business slow-down owing to the initial Covid-19 outbreak. We have a rare opportunity to join our teaching team as a full-time teacher, so please apply quickly to secure an initial interview. If you are only available for part-time shifts, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Assistance with relocation is available. Please get in touch for more information on this point.

At our popular language centres, we provide a wide variety of courses for both groups and private classes. We have traditional 4-skills-based “conversation” classes, as well as business, and a variety of lessons available to learners, as young as two years old. Training and support will be provided for classes and age groups you are not familiar with.

We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic English instructor/s with availability on Saturdays and weekday afternoons to evenings. The Fukuoka Shane network consists of 7 busy schools, all conveniently located for public transportation, and class sizes are small, limited to a maximum of 8 students.

A variety of performance-related bonuses are available, such as when new students join, request you as their teacher, and if you consistently maintain a high number of students in your larger classes. From time to time there will be other money-making opportunities, from teaching in our cram schools, summer camps, and preschools.

Although we are primarily a British English-themed school, we do of course welcome all clearly spoken native English teachers… who can deliver motivating and stimulating classes!

We also offer:
● Visa sponsorship and assistance
● Shakai hoken (Japanese health and pension)
● A total of 7 weeks paid leave, including 6 weeks of fixed school holidays and 1 week of discretionary paid leave
● Paid academic support meetings and initial training
● Excellent classrooms, wifi, printers, resources, and materials for use in your lessons
● Lesson guides for all group classes – so you’re never lost!
● The freedom to teach the lessons you want. Creativity and personalisation are very welcome, provided you follow the curriculum and the materials the students have

You should:
● Have at least a year’s experience teaching English in Japan or an EFL context overseas
● Have a Bachelor’s degree or higher
● Live in Japan, and be legally able to work in Japan
● Be a native speaker of English – you were raised and educated in an environment where English was the usual language of daily communication
● Be an enthusiastic people person, and able to ask for help when needed!
● Be motivated, and be a motivator!

Fukuoka city has a great nightlife, many famous culinary delights, and an even better natural environment, with plenty of beautiful beaches, mountains, hiking trails, and onsens to explore. Many short stayers end up becoming lifers in this wonderful area.

If you have a Cambridge CELTA or DELTA, a Trinity TESOL Certificate or Diploma, a Master’s degree, or B.Ed related qualification, your application will be given priority consideration. If you are unqualified, we can offer partial support in obtaining a TESOL related qualification.

The position will ideally commence around mid-late May. We may be able to be flexible with the start date for the ideal candidate.

The full-time salary for this position starts at ¥250,000/month. A range of higher beginning salaries are negotiable depending on experience, qualifications, and the demonstrable ability to do the job well.

Part-time shifts rates start at ¥2,800/hour, with a 50% rate applied to cancelled lessons.
