ABOUT SAGA
Saga is a pleasant town, in the southern island of Kyushu, situated between the cities of Nagasaki and Fukuoka (the 6th largest city in Japan). It’s in a rural area, but has two shopping malls, and a third mall just outside of town, so there are many shops and restaurants, and it’s also home to the Saga International Hot Air Balloon Festival every autumn.
Saga has its own airport (as does Nagasaki and Fukuoka), and it’s also only about a 30 minute train ride from Fukuoka, from where you can get bullet trains to anywhere you want to go to in Japan, so it’s a convenient location to explore Japan from.
