Translation Course

Once again WAHAHA Japanese Language School is hosting our special Japanese-English Translation lecture series! Don’t miss-out on this limited opportunity to gain the know-how needed to translate accurately and swiftly.

[Course Description]
Each lecture will be taught by an experienced professional translator with a wealth of background knowledge of the translation industry in Japan. Through fourteen regular, three-hour sessions, this course will help those aspiring in-house, or freelance translators gain the skills they need through rigorous practice translating a wide-variety of material.

This time, along with our regular translation classes, we are also hosting six special lectures from two guest translators, Christopher Norman and Shunichi Nagae.

Mr. Christopher Norman graduated with a BA in Japanese Studies, and studied translation at Inter School Fukuoka. He has since worked as a freelance translator in Japan for nearly ten years. In his capacity as a freelance translator, he has worked with a variety of documents for numerous magazines, websites and tourist organizations. He has also worked as an interpreter for three-month-long Japanese NGO, Peace Boat.

Mr. Shunichi Nagae is currently the CEO of 「翻訳のサムライ」(Samurai Translators), a translation company based in Fukuoka City, and a member of the Japan Association of Translators. He graduated from Tokyo University with a BA in Economics and has extensive experience working with such partners as AEON, BOSE, Rakuten Securities and JICA, among many others.

These sessions are open for everyone to join for a nominal fee, but those enrolled in the three-week course will have access to each lecture, free, as part of their tuition.
