On February 12, 2025, Cheepao Maratan (Seven Treasures Mala Tang) officially opened in Tenjin, bringing bold flavors to Kyushu. At today’s press event, we got an exclusive first taste of what’s in store.
Crafted with a proprietary blend of over 30 spices and high-quality ingredients sourced both locally and internationally, Cheepao Maratan’s mala soup is a flavor-packed experience.
Customers can build their perfect bowl by selecting from a variety of fresh vegetables, tofu, seafood, and meats—priced at ¥3.1 per gram—allowing full control over portion size and cost.
Customization is key. Spiciness levels range from mild to fiery, ensuring a personalized experience for every diner. This flexible approach has earned the brand an impressive 80% return rate.
With a sleek, stylish interior and a menu designed for health-conscious young professionals, particularly women in their 20s and 30s, the restaurant caters to solo diners and small groups alike.
Cheepao Maratan has ambitious plans—the Tenjin shop is just the beginning. With ten more locations set to open across Kyushu in the next three years, mala tang’s rise as a healthy alternative to ramen shows no signs of slowing down.
Conveniently located on Nishidori Street in Daimyo, the restaurant’s extended hours (11:00–23:00) make it a great choice for lunch, dinner, or a late-night bite. With its signature numbing spice and bold flavors, mala tang has officially arrived in Fukuoka—and it’s here to stay.
