Located just south of Kokutai-doro, the main drag crossing Nishi-dori near the Apple Store, Evol is relatively new to the scene having opened in 2017, yet they offer an unparalleled club experience. It’s a bit like if someone scooped up a piece of Las Vegas and dropped it in Fukuoka. The whole place operates on a grand scale. The dance hall looks bigger than any others in town, there is a constantly rotating selection of house DJs and the visual productions are second to none. It’s a sensory overload with go-go dancers, fog machines, and video effects. Plus once a night a dancing Daft Punkesque robot man comes out to dance and shoot lasers out of his hands. That alone is worth a visit! For the high rollers, you can find plenty of VIP spaces around the dance floor as well as private rooms on the second floor. Evol also makes a great effort to be accommodating to women with a large women-only section for them to catch their breath. They also aim to attract the Korean music fan crowd too with two large K-Pop events happening monthly. The whole building is operated by the same management, so feel free to wander into the other venues. They have no stakes poker tables (Tuesday-Saturday), a beautiful restaurant, and a pub with an impressively extensive international beer list. So come take part in the high life if only for one night, Evol delivers the goods. Check their Instagram for monthly and holiday events.
