Chikugo City Distribute Umbrellas for Elementary School Social Distancing

Chikugo City will distribute sun umbrellas to all elementary and junior-high-school students as a measure to prevent COVID-19 infections. A budget of about ¥6 million was approved at the city’s assembly on July 8. According to the prefecture, many students tend to remove their masks on their way home due to the summer heat. Sun umbrellas will not only create shade for them but also help them maintain social distance. A similar project was adopted in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture. Source: Chikugo City
