Chinese residents of Kyushu involved with the arts formed a federation from eight smaller groups last week to promote exchange with each other and with Japanese artists in the region. It is the first such organization of its type in Kyushu, and there are 66 charter members. These members are involved with a wide range of activities, including writing, watercolor painting, and martial arts, and also teach about 2,000 students.
