Fukuoka City will outsource to the private sector the work for creating and delivering tax certification documents, as well has handling telephone inquiries for such matters. The city says they will be the first special ordinance city in the country to outsource that work, and by doing so they hope to save 100 million yen annually. The 16 city employees now handling that work will be reassigned.
