Fukuoka Prefecture Has 10 Billion Yen Unused Pandemic Funds

Approximately ¥10 billion of the new coronavirus relief funds remain unused in Fukuoka Prefecture. The prefecture received around ¥44 billion in grants from the national government to fight against the virus’s spread by supporting local medical preparedness and implemented various programs to support the regional economy. However, the unused funds are expected to reach approximately ¥7 billion in supporting mid-and-small sized companies and ¥ 3 billion in preventing the virus spread. Those funds would be reappropriated to projects for the fiscal year of 2021. Source: RKB
