The city of Kitakyushu signed a memorandum of understanding with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to help cut greenhouse gas emissions in developing countries. Under the program, officials from developing countries will come to Kitakyushu to study the concepts behind the city’s resource recycling concepts. This is the first agreement UNIDO has signed with a local government in Japan.
