Pandemic Controls To Remain Within Fukuoka Prefecture

Japan’s Economic Revitalization Minister, Nishimura Yasutoshi, clarified that ‘mann-enn boushi to juten sochi’ anti-infection program currently in effect in Fukuoka Prefecture would not be lifted. While Fukuoka requested the national government lift this set of pandemic-control measures earlier than initially scheduled, the spread of the Delta variant in other parts of Japan is judged to be an inevitable threat to Fukuoka and a reason not to open the economy further at this time.  Source: NHK
