Fukuoka Prefectural Police is warning people about scams related to the national ¥100,000 handout program. According to the police, several such cases have been reported in Fukuoka Prefecture as of May 18. One of the instances targeted a Minami-Ward resident who was visited by a young man and woman claiming to be Fukuoka City staff. The resident was told to show their bank book to receive quicker payment. There have also been reported cases in which someone offered assistance with the application form for the program.
