This free event at Kyushu University includes open radio communication with engineer and a JAXA astronaut Koichi Wakata. During a nearly two decade career in spaceflight Wakata has logged five months in space. He is currently assigned to a long duration space flight which departed Nov. 2013. Wakata will remain on the International Space Station (ISS) until May and captain the station for the final two months of his stay. He will be the first Asian commander of the ISS. The twenty minute radio communication starts at 20:00, in which Wakata will answer pre-prepared questions. Before the transmission, a JAXA employee will deliver a short presentation about space related careers. There’s also a model of the ISS displayed in the hall, and a chance to try on a space suit!
