Approximately 60 signs have been installed since the initiative began in 2008. The new signs, which will be added by the end of March, include one about Shimogofukumachi, which was both the hiding place of Shinsaku Takasugi—a samurai from Choshu (now Yamaguchi) who helped usher in the Meiji Restoration—and a stopover for Taisho Era poet and painter Yumeji Takehisa. Another sign describes the workshop of Yoichi Kojima, a renowned Hakata Doll maker who died in 1970. Source: Nishinippon Shimbun, Mar. 15
</oembed>
