Named Formation Crista, the 15-year old holstein has produced 142,497 kg of milk at the I Happy Farm, making her the biggest currently active milk producer by volume in Japan’s 46 prefectures aside from Hokkaido according to the Japan Holstein Registration Association. Formation Krista also ranks fifth all time in milk production volume. Farm owner Kazuyuki Ikematsu likened his prize cow to baseball star Ichiro, “Reaching 100,000 kg is like getting 2,000 hits. It can’t be achieved without working every day and taking care of your body.”
