Construction will begin in fiscal 2014. The Bugu Yagura will be 60m long and 12~13m tall, and its height including the stone walls will exceed 20m. The City hopes this reconstructed tower will serve as the symbol of Fukuoka Castle since it has deemed the reconstruction of the castle keep difficult. Reconstruction will be conducted into two phases (Phase I: 2014~2018; Phase II: 2019~2028), and the City aims to refurbish five historical buildings in that time. The materials for the Shiomi Yagura, located on the northwestern side of the castle grounds, have been preserved, so the City has determined that it \u201ccan be rebuilt in a short period of time and will contribute to forming the scenic landscape\u201d.
