<\/p>\nCleaning Day is a recycling event that began in Finland in 2012. The initiative was launched in Japan in 2014, and this year the festival returns to Fukuoka for the fourth time. In order to promote upcycling, which is the concept of adding new value to recycled items, upcycling workshops will be held and upcycled items will be on sale. Some workshops include making new notebooks from paper scraps and sewing together pieces of old cloths. Good-as-new repaired and upcycled bicycles will also be on sale.<\/p>\n
