Dani Gurgel TUQTI Tour 2018<\/strong> Profile<\/strong> Dani strives to bring together musical talents with common goals, producing series as \u201cNovos Compositores\u201d (New Composers), in which she has brought together new talents from Brazil to a series of shows, compilations and specially produced albums; and her documentary TV series \u201cOutro Som\u201d (another sound), inspired by her award-winning web-series \u201cM\u00fasica de Gra\u00e7a\u201d (music for free). <\/p>\n Since 2012, Dani works in collaboration with pianist and composer Debora Gurgel and drummer and music producer Thiago Rabello on “Dani & Debora Gurgel Quarteto”. \nDani Gurgel\u2019s precise scatting combines a reed instrument with a Brazilian pandeiro. It is a mix of the percussive and syncopated sound of the Portuguese language with the swaying curves of English. “A fantastic syllabary”, notes German newspaper Badische Zeitung, and “scatted vocal adventures” according to German magazine Jazzthetik. This Brazilian singer and composer puts together her experience as a big band saxophone player and rock band bassist in the same cauldron as her ongoing work as a music photographer and video director, stirred with diverse influences and poured as determination. <\/p>\n
