Sunset Live is Kyushu\u2019s most popular outdoor music festival, now on its 26th year. Enjoyed by over 15,000 people every year, Sunset Live first began as a small party in the parking lot of Sunset Cafe. Now, over sixty bands and artists covering a wide range of genres (including some of Japan\u2019s most popular acts) perform across several stages and are watched by legions of adoring fans. The festival is held on a natural, crescent-shaped beach in Keya, Itoshima which leads straight into the beautifully warm waters of the Genkai-nada Sea, and is bordered on one side by lush green mountains. All along the beach, colorful booths sell refreshments and food prepared by some of Fukuoka\u2019s hippest restaurants and bars! Whether you\u2019re alone or with friends and family, you can chill out and groove to the music, take a walk on the beach, cool off in the sea, or try stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) and more! This is also the perfect summer festival for eco-warriors, as the event also focuses on \u201csaving nature for the future\u201d \u2013 from inspiring art installations and efficient recycling booths to recycled food utensils. And art lovers can enjoy live painting by various international and local artists over the course of the weekend.<\/p>\n
