The sumo god of <em>ki<\/em> is enshrined and worshipped at Sumiyoshi Shrine. The <em>yokozuna dohyo-iri<\/em> dedication is an official ceremony in which a <em>yokozuna<\/em> (grand champion of <em>sumo<\/em>) enters the <em>sumo<\/em> ring. It is an official event held annually by the Japan Sumo Association before the Kyushu Basho. The event usually attracts more than 3,000 visitors and is free to all attendees.
