Kougei Expo is a three-day event which will feature seven crafts from Fukuoka Prefecture: Hakata-ori (textile), Hakata ningyo<\/em> (doll), Kurume kasuri<\/em> (fabric), Koishiwarayaki (ceramic), Yame Fukushima butsudan<\/em> (Buddhist altar), Aganoyaki (ceramic), and Yame chochin<\/em> (paper lantern) as well as a variety of traditional crafts from all over Japan. View the main exhibition at Marine Messe and join special bus tours for a chance to learn about these crafts up close at their birthplaces in Fukuoka Prefecture. With three one-day tour courses to choose from, we will visit studios and exhibition centers to learn and experience making these crafts, as well as try local food!
