Called the \u201cKing of Flowers\u201d because of their beautiful vibrancy, over 2,000 peonies will be in bloom, including a number of rare specimens from China. 30 varieties of Chinese peony will also be in bloom throughout the shrine garden, with several American flowers bursting through with colors not often seen in Japan. The best time of year to catch peonies is the beginning of April, while for Chinese peonies it\u2019s the middle of April.
