An exhibition looking back at the career of world-renowned children\u2019s writer Astrid Lindgren will be held to celebrate 150 years of diplomatic relations between Japan and Sweden. Lindgren began publishing her literature in 1945 and went on to produce an incredible amount of work during her 94 years, including the universally-loved Pippi Longstocking. Approximately 200 items will be featured in this exhibition, including texts registered in UNESCO\u2019s Memory of the World Program and original Pippi Longstocking manuscripts, which will be displayed outside of Sweden for the first time. Keep an eye out for video footage introducing Lindgren\u2019s efforts to protect children from human rights violations, an example of the authors\u2019 concern for the younger generation. A model of Pippi\u2019s house will be set up inside the venue, along with an area where children can create art and solve puzzles. Imported goods will also be on sale. There will be something for all age groups to enjoy!<\/p>\n
