Special Guest – Update!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two special guests have been confirmed for the lunch event. Firstly we are honored to welcome Ian Burney, Ambassador of Canada<\/strong> to Japan who will be in Fukuoka to watch the match and also make an appearance at the Canadian booth at Fanzone in front of JR Hakata Station.<\/p>\n

Then, as previously announced, someone of great importance to both Canadian and Japanese rugby, Ms. Lesley McKenzie!<\/strong> Hailing from Fort Nelson, British Columbia, Lesley McKenzie is a former Canadian international player with 25 caps. She has played in two Women\u2019s Rugby World Cups: in 2006 and 2010. In January 2019, she was appointed head coach of the Japanese women\u2019s rugby 15s team, the Sakura 15s. She now has her sights set on Women\u2019s Rugby World Cup 2021 and had been developing the next generation of female coaches in Japan.<\/p>\n

Join fellow Team Canada rugby fans for a fun lunch event in Fukuoka City on September 26, Team Canada\u2019s first match in Rugby World Cup 2019. The event is open to the public \u2013 book now! We expect fans from overseas, from other parts of Japan, and some special guests to attend!<\/p>\n

The venue<\/a> is a comfortable and popular restaurant located within convenient reach of the stadium. A set meal of \u201cmizutaki,\u201d a healthy chicken and vegetable hot-pot dish and a local specialty of Fukuoka, and one beverage included. Additional alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks are available (not included).<\/p>\n

Transportation to the stadium: The restaurant is a 4-minute on foot to Nakasu-Kawabata Subway Station. It takes 16 minutes to get to Fukuoka Airport Station. Then transfer to a special stadium shuttle bus (15 min). Total time: 35 minutes.<\/p>\n
