Yajuro Takashima (1890-1975) was an artist and native of Kurume City (Fukuoka Prefecture) who gained widespread acclaim for his highly original Western-style paintings. Approximately 80 pieces of his work will be on display, including some items that have not been shown in public. The chance to see them alongside newly discovered creations will provide valuable insight into one of Japan’s top modern painters.
