<\/p>\nSakurai Shrine, a shrine in Sakurai, Itoshima, was founded by the Fukuoka clan. Until around the early Meiji period, Noh plays were dedicated every year by the Fukuoka clan, and Noh was familiar to people in Itoshima. To revive Noh dedication, a proud local traditional culture, and to continue that into the future, volunteers in Itoshima began a Noh dedication in 2019. This year, the festival will be held twice, once in the daytime and once in the evening. On the day, “Kagyu (snail)” and “Tsunemasa” will be dedicated. In the evening, “Uri Nusubito (thief)” and “Itokoku Sakurai,” which were produced last year, will be dedicated as firelit Noh plays performed outdoors by a bonfire. Remember to bring warm clothing for the outdoor venue.<\/p>\n
