Under the theme of “Seeing Ukiha through Art,” this art event is an opportunity to rediscover the charm of Ukiha while feeling the history and stories of Ukiha. The venue is an old 100-year-old house in the Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings. Through exchange exhibitions in which Japanese and Colombian artists have sent their works to each other’s countries for exhibition, it was discovered that many of the immigrants from Japan to Colombia in the early Showa period were from Ukiha County, Fukuoka Prefecture, which led to the “Layover Report” exhibition being held in Ukiha. The exhibition will include works by four artists. The “Minamo” lodging facility, which opened after renovating two former residences, will display art that can be viewed only by guests, but will be open to non-guests on Saturdays and Sundays during the period and on 1\/20 and 1\/27, if rooms are available (the rooms that can be opened will be announced on Instagram<\/a> and Facebook<\/a> immediately before the event).<\/p>\n
