At the Noh stage of Kushida Shrine, located in the old town of Hakata, there will be live stages of Hakata traditional performances and Japanese musical instruments.<\/p>\n

Chikuzen Hakata Top is a stunt with a history of over 450 years, beloved by emperors and shoguns. The trick of the top, which has an iron core driven into the wooden base, has been passed down and was designated as the first intangible cultural property of Fukuoka Prefecture.<\/p>\n

Hakata Geigi (Geisha) appeared in the middle of the Edo period. While many people think of Gion in Kyoto when it comes to geishas, there is also a history of geishas called “Hakata Geigi” in Fukuoka. The dance of the geisha wearing a Hakata Ori obi will be showcased.<\/p>\n

\"Traditional<\/p>\n

Chikushi Dance is a dance originating from Kyushu that appeared in literature over 1,000 years ago. It is characterized by unique footwork incorporating leaps and rotations. There are two types of dances: dances dedicated to gods and dances to entertain people, and even today, there are shrines where the chief priest and shrine officials dedicate Chikushi Dance.<\/p>\n

The Japanese traditional music ensemble group “Mahora” was formed in 2016 by five people who studied Japanese music at Tokyo University of the Arts to convey the charm of traditional Japanese instruments such as koto, shamisen, koky\u016b, and shakuhachi to the modern world.<\/p>\n
