Tucked away in the coastal town of Karatsu, Nagoya Castle, remains a formidable edifice constructed during Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s invasions of Korea. This site once convened feudal lords from across Japan, and it was here that the ‘Yobuko Otsunahiki’\u2014a grand tug-of-war using naval ropes\u2014commenced, designed to lift the spirits of samurai by dividing them into eastern and western contingents. The castle also hosted sophisticated tea ceremonies for Japanese warlords and international envoys alike.<\/p>\n

The festivities begin with morning archery, where participants can aim at sea-borne targets. The afternoon promises aquatic adventure with SUP (Stand Up Paddleboarding), climaxing with a dynamic tug-of-war contest.
