This national holiday celebrates young adults reaching the age of 20, the official age of adulthood. Throughout Japan, local governments host events to honor these new adults. In Fukuoka City, the main event organized by the city government takes place at Marine Messe, and just a short walk away, Bayside Place will be hosting its own celebratory event.<\/p>\n
Join us for a vibrant display of Japanese culture with live Wadaiko (Japanese drum) performances and a procession of shishi (lion). The area will be buzzing with the energy of young adults dressed in their finest kimonos and hakamas, marking their new status as adults. Be sure to come early \u2013 the first 100 guests will receive a complimentary bowl of warm Zenzai, a sweet red bean soup, a perfect treat for this special occasion.<\/p>\n
