During the festival, with each strike of the hour, the air fills with excitement as attendees eagerly await the ritualistic scattering of beans, rice cakes, mandarin oranges, sweets, and more. Accompanied by the spirited chant of \u201cFuku wa Uchi! Oni wa Soto!\u201d (Fortune in, demons out!), this ritual symbolizes the banishing of evil spirits and the welcoming of blessings and prosperity.<\/p>\n
The festival reaches its zenith on February 3rd, when the Shichifukujin, or the Seven Gods of Good Fortune, grace the event with their presence. This day is especially auspicious, drawing a multitude of people keen to partake in the festivities and collect the scattered offerings. Each item caught is believed to bring luck and ensure a year filled with good fortune.<\/p>\n
