During the four-day Obon period, the annual \u201cMitama Matsuri\u201d festival is held, a cherished tradition where numerous lanterns are displayed throughout the shrine grounds to show gratitude to the shrine\u2019s deity of peace and one\u2019s ancestors at the Gokoku Shrine. More than 6,000 lanterns donated by citizens and local businesses illuminate the sacred grove, creating a mesmerizing ambiance. Along the approach, a flea market-style night market is set up, featuring over 180 booths offering various goods and gourmet food in 4 days. This event is a blend of reverence, illumination, and lively market hustle that visitors eagerly anticipate every year.<\/p>\n
