<\/p>\nKashiigu Shrine, one of only 16 shrines in Japan and two in Kyushu (alongside Usa Shrine), receives an imperial envoy for its sacred rituals. Known for its myth-laden grounds, the shrine features the Kusunoki-lined road, or “Chokushi-do,” leading to its entrance, as well as the unique architectural style of the main hall known as \u201cKashii-zukuri.\u201d This exhibition highlights the shrine and the surrounding Kashii area through the lens of local visual artists. Seven artists, along with students from a nearby arts high school, present approximately 15 pieces\u2014including paintings, sculptures, and installations\u2014that explore harmony between art, place, and history, inspired by their research on Kashii.<\/p>\n
