This exhibition invites visitors to experience Beethoven\u2019s Symphony No. 9 through an inclusive, multi-sensory approach. Composed after Beethoven lost his hearing, the Ninth is reinterpreted here through stereoscopic photography and video. Visitors are encouraged to see, hear, and physically engage with the music\u2014exploring the composition\u2019s world through both visual and auditory means.<\/p>\n

On Mon., Sep. 15, a Shuka (signed song) workshop and photo session will be held. Participants will wear LED-lit white gloves and express the lyrics of Beethoven\u2019s Ninth through hand movements. Their performances will be photographed by Mariko Tagashira.<\/p>\n

The workshop is led by soprano and artistic director of White Hand Chorus NIPPON, Erika Colon.<\/p>\n

Also screening is a documentary film that follows White Hand Chorus NIPPON members as they perform in Japan and abroad, showcasing the expressive power of music and the creative voices of children of all abilities. A new installment from their recent Vienna tour will also be shown.<\/p>\n

This event is presented in conjunction with the Dec. 7 performance, \u201cVisible, Felt \u2013 A New Ninth,<\/a>\u201d by White Hand Chorus NIPPON and the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra.<\/p>\n
