Fukuoka Castle Sakura Festival, one of the city\u2019s best-known cherry blossom events, takes place at Maizuru Park. Around 1,000 cherry trees in 19 varieties, including somei-yoshino and weeping cherry, bloom across the grounds surrounding the ruins of Fukuoka Castle, offering a chance to enjoy spring scenery and historic surroundings within walking distance of Tenjin.<\/p>\n

During the festival, gourmet areas will appear at Sannomaru and the Korokan Ruins, with yatai stalls and kitchen cars serving local specialties and sweets from around Kyushu. At Sannomaru Square, a paid area will also be available for BBQ under the cherry blossoms. In addition, a sakura fair with around 40 food stalls will be held at the East Entrance (former courthouse site).<\/p>\n

At night, the cherry blossoms and historic ruins will be illuminated from 18:00 to 22:00, creating a magical atmosphere distinct from the daytime scene. Paid illuminated areas with special light displays will also be set up at three venues\u2014Sakura Garden<\/a>, Tamon Yagura<\/a>, and Otaka Yashiki<\/a> (\u00a5600 for one venue, \u00a51,500 for all three).<\/p>\n
